


The organizers (FERWACY) and their associates (Team Rwanda and GSO) share a joint ambition to old a professionally organized are that is attractvive, innovative, and combines tourism with sporting reality. the project will involve a number of partners : competitors, government, tourist office, authorities, privat economic players, International Cycling Union (UCI), press, local population.
This international tour, the first in East Africa, will be an excellent opportunity to take a closer look at rapidly developing Rwandan cycling. It will represent a new interest for competitors and the international press as well as associating sport with the past and with tourism : visiting the gorillas, Akagera park, Kivu lake, memorials to the memory of Genocide victims...
The schedule comprise 8 stages, 1 rest day, 1069 km to cover, 13066 m difference in altitude...
15 team of 6 competitors and 3 members of accompanying personnel are expected to take part: 9 or 10 African countires : South Africa, Mauritius, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Rwanda of course, and 5 or 6 othr teams : France, Belgium, the USA...
